Officers in Hartford County responded to a report of an overturned box truck on Buckland Hills Drive in Manchester near the entrance to Walmart on the night of Tuesday, June 14, according to the Manchester Police Department.

Police said the truck had been carrying produce out of Granby and was traveling east when the driver lost control of the vehicle at a curve in the road, and it began to tilt.

When the driver tried to correct the path of travel, the truck struck a curb and overturned, coming to a rest on its passenger side, police said.

Authorities said the driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The box truck sustained heavy damage in the crash, and some of the squash and zucchini the truck was carrying spilled on the road, authorities reported.

Police said it is estimated the total loss was between $10,000 and $12,000 worth of product.
